Maphlix Trust’s value-added products are the cornerstone of its strategy to transform fresh harvests into nutrient-dense, shelf-stable goods for local and global markets. By processing raw materials in-house, the company captures higher margins and addresses critical food security needs.
Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) Puree (Launch 2025): A flagship innovation designed as a nutritious, cost-effective substitute for wheat flour in bakeries and food manufacturing. It is projected to reduce the cost of bread production by up to 20% while fighting Vitamin A deficiency.
OFSP-Fortified Gari: A nutritional upgrade of a West African staple, combining cassava or sweet potatoes with Vitamin A-rich OFSP. Commercial-scale exports for this product began in 2024.
High-Quality Potato Flour: A fine, gluten-free flour processed from dried sweet potatoes, serving as a versatile ingredient for the food and confectionery industries.
Industrial Starch: Extracted from roots and tubers, this high-stability starch has diverse applications in the textile, pharmaceutical, and beverage sectors.
Processing Capacity Expansion: Maphlix is upgrading its facilities to increase annual processing capacity from 700 metric tons to 18,000 metric tons.
Automated Technology: The expansion includes installing a three-ton-per-hour automated puree line capable of producing 800 tons monthly to meet B2B demand from large-scale bakeries and baby food producers.
Solar-Powered Infrastructure: A state-of-the-art, solar-powered packhouse streamlines post-harvest handling, ensuring that raw materials are cleaned, sorted, and stored under optimal conditions to maintain the highest quality for value addition.
Future Innovations: The company is currently developing new lines for dried ginger and turmeric, as well as specialized OFSP-based baby foods and noodles
